Three kittens are being nursed back to health after they were discovered dumped in an empty crisp box in Shepherd’s Bush .
The cats, thought to be around a month old, were found by a passer-by on Shepherd’s Bush Road on September 29.
The trio were dangerously weak and suffering from anaemia as a result of being infested with fleas.
But the adorable animals, who have been named McCoy, Pringles and Dorito in a nod to the snack box they were discovered in, are now recovering at the Blue Cross animal hospital in Hammersmith .
They are being monitored at the vets until they are well enough to be transferred to a Blue Cross rehoming centre, and they will be ready to bag new homes in a few weeks’ time.
Tracey Parnell, veterinary nurse at the Hammersmith Blue Cross hospital , said: “McCoy, Dorito and Pringle were really underweight, scared and cold when they were brought in to us. We treated them for fleas, warmed them up and fed them kitten milk using a syringe, which perked them up a bit.
“Kittens this young are so helpless, so it’s really lucky they found their way to us in time. We would ask anyone struggling to care for a pet to contact a charity like Blue Cross and never just leave them to fend for themselves.”
