Motorists using the M25 and other nearby motorways to access Heathrow Airport are being warned of roadwords this week.

Highways England said work on the London Orbital and M4 could affect drivers heading to and from the airport.

Repair work to carriageways at Junction 14 of the M25 in an attempt to improve journeys.

It will see the anti-clockwise exit slip road and the dedicated terminal 5 spur road close overnight, between 10pm and 5am, on Tuesday (January 10).

An inspection of the carriageway on the M4 junction 4, near Heathrow, will also start this week.

This will result in the eastbound entry slip road closed between 10pm and 5am, from Wednesday (January 11) for three nights.

Work is set to begin on Friday (January 15) at 11pm with a signed diversion in place via M4 westbound to junction 5 and return.

Other work in and around the M25 includes:

M1 junctions 1 (A406) to 4 Elstree, Greater London - bridge joint replacement.

The northbound carriageway (including the London Gateway entry slip road) will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 5.30am, from Tuesday 10 January for 4 nights.

Work on Friday will start at 11pm. A signed diversion will be in place via the A406, A41 and A47 to M1 junction 4.

M1 junction 3 London Gateway Services, Greater London - bridge joint replacement

The southbound exit slip road will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 5.30am, on Monday 9 January. A diversion will be in place via junction 1 and return.

M1 junction 6a (M25), Hertfordshire - maintenance

The southbound link road to the M25 anti-clockwise carriageway will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 5am, on Thursday 12 January. A diversion will be in place via the M25 clockwise to junction 22 and return.

M25 junction 23 South Mimms, Hertfordshire - repairs

The clockwise exit slip road will be closed overnight, between 11pm and 5am, on Friday 13 January. A diversion will be in place via junction 24 and return.

M25 junction 24 Potters Bar, Hertfordshire - carriageway repairs

The clockwise exit and entry slip roads will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 5am, from Monday 9 January for three nights.

A signed diversion for the exit slip road will be in place to junction 25 and return. A diversion for the entry slip road will be in place via M25 anti-clockwise to junction 23 and return.

The anti-clockwise entry slip road will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 5am, on Thursday 12 January. A diversion will be in place via the M25 clockwise to junction 25 and return.
