Don't put your sun loungers out and sunglasses back on just yet.

Although we've had reports that we're heading for an "Indian Summer" in the coming months - it's not going to heat up any time soon.

Wednesday (September 6) is set to be the "driest and brightest" day of the week, but that's as good as it's going to get.

And temperature-wise, although it won't be "scorchio", a lucky few could be seeing a fairly decent 19C.

The Met Office say a 'jet stream' is on the way this weekend

It's going to be a blustery day on Friday (September 8) with showers "wherever you are" according to a Met Office weather forecast.

But a jet stream is said to hit the UK on Saturday, intensifying by the end of the week, with strong winds and heavy downpours.

Emma Sharples, A Met Office meteorologist, said: "September is looking like a mixed bag of weather at the moment.

"Tomorrow we'll see highs of around 18 - 19C maximum and throughout the week temperatures of around 17, 18 or 19C.

"However that's not to say it'll be dry. Towards the weekend we'll see rain, showers and strong winds.

"The rain pushes from the North West and moves South Westerly so it'll be wet and windy Sunday (September 10) and Monday (September 11).

"Coastal wind gales are likely on Sunday, which may catch some people out, particularly if they have garden furniture out."
