President Donald Trump's policy banning people from seven Muslim countries entering the US sparked an "emergency" protest in London, with at least 10,000 attending in Westminster.
Led by political activist Owen Jones, the demo saw crowds gather outside Downing Street to unite against the ban and "Theresa May's decision to ally herself" with the new leader .
Protests simultaneously took place across Edinburgh, Cardiff and Manchester as people react in outrage over the decision.
It comes as more than a million people signed an online petition calling for Trump's state visit to Britain be cancelled, thousands of whom are west London residents.
The sentiment was firmly backed by Mayor of London Sadiq Khan who said Trump's visit should not be allowed, despite the government saying it will go ahead.

People of all ages and backgrounds have joined London’s demo as it “takes over” Westminster.

BBC Radio 4 have reported that around 10,000 are at Downing Street now for the emergency demo
'My family were immigrants after fleeing a war" protester tells getwestlondon
Protester Riddhi Siddhartha, 23, who attends University College London, told getwestlondon: “I’m here tonight because my family were immigrants fleeing a war years ago, when they first arrived here.
“It has changed their life and the UK restored their faith by letting them in.
“The idea that Trump is taking that away from families is disgusting, no one wishes that for anyone.”

Crowds are referring to his planned visit to the Head of State which PM Theresa May announced earlier this week.

What are crowds chanting?
In line with the Facebook group’s original post on why it is taking place, demonstrators can be heard chanting: ““Say it loud, say it clear, refugees are welcome here”.
It comes as Donald Trump has ordered a 90 day ban on people travelling from seven countries to the US, which he has called “extreme vetting”.

How did organisers explain why they're holding the demo?
Written in the Facebook event, the following statement explains why Owen Jones and others are urging people to gather outside Downing Street tonight, slamming Prime Minister Theresa May’s decision to forge a “special relationship” with Donald Trump.
Theresa May has decided to ally herself with Donald Trump’s bigoted, misogynistic government. She has refused to speak out against Donald Trump’s #MuslimBan - even when her own Members of Parliament are targeted. It is not only weak, it is a matter of national shame - disgracing our country across the world.
There are moments of terrible injustice throughout history where we look back and rightly ask - what did people do? Future generations will look back at the targeting of Muslims - as we look back at the targeting of Jews - with disgust, horror and shame. If we do not speak out, we are complicit.
Theresa May has betrayed her own people. That doesn’t mean we have to. Let’s stand in solidarity with those targeted by Donald Trump’s hateful government, including the people of this country, outside Downing Street and all over Britain.Other governments - like Canada, like France, like Germany - have spoken out. Our weak, cowardly government has refused to. Let’s not have the same cowardice and betrayal as our own government.
Where and when is it taking place?
Demonstrators have been told to gather outside Downing Street at 6pm where the protest will begin.
Organised by political activist and author of The Establishment Owen Jones, the Facebook event says at least 28,000 are attending tonight.
