A dog owner in Hounslow who turned a blind eye to the council's dog fouling rules has been issued with a fine.
Hounslow Council said a resident of Thornbury Road in Isleworth allowed their dog to befoul Spring Grove Road, which landed them with an £80 fixed penalty notice.
In light of the fine, Hounslow council's enforcement team are reminding people of their poster campaign - 'Happens. Deal with it' - to get people to clean up their act and place the bagged up dog foul in any waste bin.
Councillor Sue Sampson, cabinet member for communities at Hounslow Council , said it was 'irresponsible' of dog owners.
Ms Sampson added: “Dog owners are creatures of habit and often walk the same route every day when exercising their dog.
“The dogs themselves often foul in the same spots. If you live in an area where this happens it can be very frustrating, not to mention utterly disgusting, to be faced with this every day.”
People are also being urged to make the council aware of anyone who doesn't scoop up after their dog has pooped on the streets.
To report someone a description of the dog owner, time and place of where the fouling took place is needed.
