This weekend, many people across west London will gather to celebrate Diwali , the Indian festival of lights which marks the triumph of light over darkness, and good over evil.

The festival falls on a different date every year, in accordance to the position of the moon. This year it falls on October 30.

Those taking part in the festivities set off fireworks, light candles and exchange gifts and food with loved ones, celebrating the arrival of Lord Rama as he frees Queen Sita and defeats the evil Ravana
