A section of the District Line has re-opened after a train derailed on its approach to Ealing Broadway.

The service between Ealing Broadway and Acton Town were suspended late on Tuesday (March 1) on a train which was carrying a small number of passengers.

But Transport for London (TfL) spokesperson said the service had resumed at 10.15pm on Wednesday (March 2) and an investigation into why it derailed is under way.

Steve White, operations director for the District line, said: "Following a signal failure towards the end of service last night, a District line train approaching Ealing Broadway station subsequently became derailed as it crossed a set of points.

"No one was injured in this incident and our engineers are working closely with the Rail Accident Investigations Board on site to investigate."
