Getwestlondon readers have reacted to the news that Uxbridge 's BHS store will be replaced with a Decathlon sports shop – with many saying they are "disappointed" with the news.

Iconic high street company British Home Stores went into administration last year with the Uxbridge branch in intu Uxbridge shopping centre closing its doors for good in August.

The site has been empty since but intu Uxbridge announced on Wednesday (March 22) that the sports chain Decathlon would be opening this summer.

However, the news has not been met with excitement from getwestlondon readers commenting on Facebook.

BHS occupied the spot in the shopping centre for 15 years before the closure.

Intu Uxbridge has recently welcomed a new Toys 'R' Us store, Natwest bank and a bigger Next branch.

Decathlon has 28 stores across the UK and the new shop will cater for over 70 sports, including surfing, cycling, football and horse riding.

The sports shop will be joining the new hugely-anticipated Primark store in the town centre, which opens on Saturday (March 25).

Readers have suggested they would prefer to see a Zara fashion retailer, a Lush cosmetic store or an Apple store.
