The Ealing Half Marathon is going from strength to strength since the inaugural race took place in 2012, with a total of 6,000 places available for this year’s half marathon.

Taking place for the third time on  Sunday 28 September 2014,  the organisers have confirmed that the 2014 race will be biggest yet, and anyone wishing to take part should sign up as soon as possible.

The race was introduced in the Olympic year in order to bring a fantastic mass participation sporting event to the Borough that would be a legacy to the Games, and the organisers have proudly achieved that. The Ealing Half Marathon is now a firm fixture in the national running calendar , attracting runners of all levels from London and beyond. It was also voted number one race for ‘best atmosphere in 2013’ by Runner’s World UK, which is a tribute to the local businesses, residents and communities who have been supporting the event over the last few years.

Race Director Kelvin Walker said: "There is a great community spirit in Ealing which the runners get to experience all along the half marathon course each year, and the hashtag #ealingfeeling is spreading across the country with runners from near and far signing up."

This year's event will start and finish in West London's Lammas Park and will be a 13.1 mile single lap, taking in Central Ealing, Montpelier, Pitshanger, West Ealing, Hanwell and St Stephens.

Organisers have confirmed that the Ealing Mini Mile will take place again too, with entries for the young runners opening in April.

Alzheimer’s Society is the headline charity for the Ealing Half Marathon, with a range of other charities using the race as a platform to raise funds and awareness.

Public places cost £32 for affiliated runners and £34 for unaffiliated runners, and all finishers receive a distinctive medal and an online e-goody bag after the race.
