A derelict former community centre in Feltham has gone up in flames for the second time in six months.

More than 20 firefighters spent over an hour tackling a blaze at the old Feltham Hotel on Wednesday (August 24) evening.

The dilapidated building, at the northern end of Feltham High Street, opposite McDonald's, was previously home to Feltham Community Association.

It has been empty since the group left in 2008, and a fire in February this year seriously damaged the ground floor and basement.

The London Fire Brigade said it was called to the property following the latest blaze at 8.57pm and sent four fire engines with 21 firefighters and officers.

Crews from Feltham, Sunbury and Staines tackled the fire, which took them until 10.10pm to bring under control.

The cause of the blaze is under investigation.
