A delivery driver was punched to the floor before robbers made off with his van in Acton.

Detectives from Ealing are appealing for witnesses to this robbery in which a white Volkswagen Transporter van was stolen.

On Wednesday May 6, at around 2.20pm, a 57-year-old delivery driver was taking a parcel to an address in Carlisle Avenue.

As he was standing at the back end of the van he was approached from behind and hit with an unknown object on his arm causing him to drop the van keys, a Met Police spokesman said. He was then punched in the back and fell to the floor.

The suspect picked up the keys, while a second suspect jumped in the passenger seat, and they drove off along Carlisle Avenue turning left into The Fairway.

The first suspect has been described as a black man, around 20 to 25-years-old, 6ft tall, of proportional build and wearing a blue jacket.

The second suspect is described as a black male.

The van registration number is DG63 VTY.

No arrests have been made and enquiries continue.

Anyone with any information is asked to call Ealing CID on 101 or anonymously through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
