A decision on the future of a new primary school in Brentford has been deferred due to a "technicality".

Councillors were due to consider a planning application from the founders of Floreat Brentford at Thursday's (October 1) planning committee meeting.

The school, which opened in September, has applied for temporary change of use allowing it to remain in the ground floor of the Trico House apartment block in Brentford's Great West Quarter for up to three years.

A slip-up on the application form and on letters originally sent to residents surrounding the site meant the building in question was incorrectly named as Wallis House.

This error meant the legal requirement for 21 days consultation had not been met. The item has been withdrawn from the agenda for tonight's planning meeting, and new letters stating the correct address have been sent to residents.

A spokesman for Hounslow Council said the postponement was the result of a "technicality".

He said new letters had been sent to residents on Thursday and 21 days would be allowed for consultation.

He added that no new date had yet been set for a decision.
