A new deal has been signed to offer a sports course for students starting at the new Logic Studio School in Feltham.

Major new sponsor PHAR Partnerships, an international media and marketing agency specialising in sports and transport, whose sporting clients include QPR and Chelsea, will deliver Business for the Sports Industry course when the school opens in September.

The latest signing reinforces the school’s focus on providing an education system which helps links students with employers and a career to better prepare them for the world of work.

Jay Lockwood, Principal designate of the new school opening in Browells Lane, said: “This certainly strengthens Logic’s ‘squad’.

“They (PHAR) are leading experts in the ‘Business of Sport’, dealing with sponsorship and player talent, so they are excellently placed to give practical lectures each week to our students.

“Right from the start we wanted to offer courses that not only offer great academic qualifications, but more importantly, that they were all rooted in real, commercial life.

“Logic students will get a proper insight into the careers they are interested in pursuing, and this knowledge will really help them to stand out when they leave school.”

A member of staff from PHAR will teach students who sign up to the course every Friday.

The company joins a line-up of more than 20 other international and local sponsors including DHL offering expertise in logistics; Tudor Park Enterprises in events and business; and Gaia, leading technology company supporting computing.

Entrepreneur Tony Fernandes CBE, owner of Air Asia and QPR FC, who is involved with PHAR, added: “It’s a privilege to be able to help schools like Logic to pass on a passion for business to the next generation.

“It’s vital that companies such as PHAR help to provide opportunities for talent to be awakened and for dreams to be realised.

“And nobody in the UK is better at the business of sport - so the students who get on to this course are incredibly lucky to be learning from the best.”
