David Beckham has revealed a number of west London hotspots while being quizzed about travelling, eating and his favourite city.

The retired footballer said his favourite place for a pub lunch in the capital is The Cow on Westbourne Park Road in Notting Hill , during an interview for British Airways ' High Life magazine.

He said: "Restaurants in London are some of the best in the world, so it's difficult to pick only one. I'm really into pub lunches at the moment - The Cow in Notting Hill is great."

The British sportsman who posed for a selfie with cabin crew also revealed there was nothing better than walking the dogs with his children in Hyde Park, where he says "you feel you're in the heart of the greatest city in the world."

It will come as no surprise that football is, in his eyes, the most exhilarating live sport to watch, with Wimbledon tennis a close runner up.

Becks' top three sports stadiums are England's Wembley Stadium , Manchester United's Old Trafford - the first football club he played for - and Real Madrid's Estadio Santiago Bernabeu in Spain.

The foodie said his next holiday will be somewhere he can try different cuisines and talked about his love affair with America, staying in Singapore, and coming home.

"New York and LA are pretty special but I also like Singapore - I love staying at Marina Bay Sands," said Beckham.

"Then again, can you ever beat Paris? I'd say it can be matched but not beaten.

"Of course, I love coming back to my home, London. It has everything you could ask for in a city."

The Beckham family's favourite holiday destination was the Maldives, with Utah's breathtaking landscapes the most memorable holiday in the US.

BA has also announced more seats from May to September at all three London airports.

At Heathrow there will be an additional service to Athens and Lisbon; two extra weekly flights to Gibraltar; and five more flights a week to Nice, as well as new destinations Mahon, Palermo, Biarritz, Chania and Kalamata.
