Offices belonging to the Daily Mail and Metro newspapers in Kensington have been evacuated because of a “suspicious package”.

Metropolitan Police were called to Northcliffe House, home of the national newspapers in Derry Street, at 12.20pm on Monday (November 14), to deal with an incident.

Kensington and Chelsea Police tweeted at around 2.15pm that the package is not dangerous.

No one has been reported injured and police said a small part of the building was evacuated as a precaution.

Roads surrounding the building have not been blocked off, said police, before they gave the all-clear.

Baz Bamigboye, the Daily Mail’s entertainment columnist, tweeted that editorial staff were evacuated after white powder was sent in the post.

He included a photo showing crowds milling around in the building’s lobby.

No arrests have been made.
