The 21-year-old cyclist who died outside Knightsbridge station on Monday (October 31) following a collision with a lorry was reportedly an Italian prince and heir to a Florentine noble family.

Italian media reported on Monday that Prince Filippo Corsini had died after the collision which happened shortly after 12.40pm.

Mr Corsini is believed to have been living in London while he was studying business at Regent's University London.

One friend wrote on Facebook: “We will not forget you, Prince.

“RIP Filippo Corsini.”

The young cyclist was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash at the Brompton Road Junction with Knightsbridge Road.

After the HGV driver stopped at the scene, he was arrested and taken to a west London police station for questioning.

The Metropolitan Police Serious Collision Investigation Unit is looking into the incident.
