A cyclist who died after he was involved in a road traffic collision with a car in Harrow has been named.

Clifton James, 60, of Cullington Close, Harrow, suffered serious head injuries after being in collision with a car.

Police were called to Forward Drive, Harrow, at around midnight by London Ambulance Service (LAS) on Sunday (June 21), following reports of a serious accident.

Officers attended and found Mr James suffering from serious head injuries. He was pronounced dead at the scene at 1.03am.

Next of kin have been informed.

A post-mortem examination is due to be held on Tuesday (June 23) at Northwick Park Hospital.

The driver of the car, a 31-year-old man, stopped at the scene and was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

He was taken to a north London police station and has since been bailed pending further enquiries to a date in mid September.

Officers from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit based at Alperton Traffic Garage are investigating.
