A cyclist and lorry have been involved in a serious crash near Edgware Road station.

Emergency services including the London Ambulance Service (LAS) and Air Ambulance wre at the scene of the accident on Chapel Street in Marylebone , following reports of a collision just after 9am on Friday (June 3).

One man was treated at the scene and has been taken as a priority to hospital in west London.

A LAS spokesperson said: “We were called at 9.11am to reports of a road traffic collision on Chapel Street, NW1.

“We sent an ambulance crew, an incident response officer and London’s Air Ambulance to the scene.

“We treated a man at the scene and took him as a priority to a hospital in west London.”

A horrified onlooker tweeted the cyclist had gone under a lorry.

A number of local road closures are in place with Chapel Street closed, Edgware Road in Marylebone blocked and queuing traffic in both directions between Paddington and the Sussex Gardens junction.

Congestion has been reported to the Maida Vale junction and to Marble Arch.

Police said they were called at 9.03am to Chapel Street to reports of a lorry in collision with a cyclist.

A Metropolitan Police spokesperson added: “London Ambulance Service and London’s Air Ambulance attended the scene.

“There are local road closures in place while emergency services deal with the accident.”

Around 10 buses operating in the area have been placed on diversion.

In a separate accident, sadly on Wednesday (June 1), a male pedestrian in his 50s died following a crash with a lorry in Victoria.

The following day, a three-year-old was killed after being hit by a car in Harrow.
