A cyclist has been killed in a road traffic collision with a car in Harrow.

A 60-year-old man died at the scene of the crash on Forward Drive, in the early hours of Sunday (June 21) morning, after suffering from serious head injuries, police said.

Officers from the Roads and Transport Policing Command have launched an appeal for witnesses and information following the 12am crash.

Police said they were called to Forward Drive, Harrow, at 12.04am, by the London Ambulance Service (LAS) on Sunday, 21 June, following reports of a serious road traffic collision.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene at 1.03am.

Next of kin have been informed.

A post-mortem examination will be scheduled in due course.

The driver of the car stopped at the scene.

A 31-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and was taken to a north London police station for questioning.

He has been bailed pending further enquiries to a date in mid-September.

Officers from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit based at Alperton Traffic Garage are investigating.
