A man has been taken to hospital with "possible life-threatening injuries" after being stabbed in Covent Garden.

Police Officers were called to reports of an assault at Brydges Place, near Chandos Place, on Wednesday (August 9) at 2.20pm and found the man, believed to be in his 20s, suffering with stab wounds.

Scotland Yard say he has been taken to a central London hospital “with possible life-threatening injuries”.

A man has been arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm and taken to a central London police station, where he remains in custody.

A crime scene is still in place, police say.

Brydges Place is located next to the Coliseum theatre and is reputed to be the narrowest alleyway in London.
