Could your stomach survive the Big Mac Meal Challenge?

The challenge will definitely expand your waistline but could also expand your wallet

The Big Mac Meal Challenge Facebook page is taking social media by storm.

The challenge, not officially affiliated with McDonald's is testing willing participants as to whether they can eat a huge McDonald's feast in under an hour (then hold it down for at least 30 minutes).

Even the organisers are wary of the challenge, warning it is not advisable "regardless of your preparations, strategy, size or weight. Believe us, we've seen it all".

We may all enjoying indulging in a McDonald's on occasion, but how much is too much?

If successful you will not only expand your waistline, you will also win £100.

If you lose, you have to pay for the meal and also buy three pints of beer for the organisers.

What is the Big Mac Meal Challenge?

A challenger must swallow four Big Mac burgers, four large fries and four large milkshakes of any flavour.

All of the food must be completely consumed within 60 minutes. The challenger must then hold down the food for 30 minutes after swallowing the last crumbs.

According to the rules, no food or drink substitutions are allowed.

"You may do anything you like to the food and drink (heat it, blend it all up in a bucket and drink it, chill it, swallow it whole...whatever)," the page says.

"As long as it's 100% consumed (including little bits of lettuce, all those little fries stuck at the bottom of the carton and every bit of milkshake), then it's passable. Clean containers are the key."

The 'awards' section of the Facebook page reads: "£100 for the winner."

"If you fail you must reimburse for the meals, plus three pints of beer of the local organiser's choosing at the host venue."

"Fair warning: If you think you can do this, you're wrong. But for some reason people keep on trying. And we'll keep drinking their beer."

We don't recommend you try this challenge but if you'd like to read more about it you can do so on the Big Mac Meal Challenge Facebook page .
