A Brentford -based IT company which started out in a shed more than a decade ago has been crowned business of the year at the 2015 Hounslow Business Awards .

Online Support Computing , in Boston Manor Road - which employs 30 staff and provides IT support to clients including the Down's Syndrome Association, Qatar Airways, and Holiday Inn - also scooped the award for best SME business for the second year running, at the glittering awards ceremony.

The gala dinner was opened by organisers Hounslow Chamber of Commerce's CEO Stephen Fry, supported by Hounslow Council and Invest Hounslow, and hosted by DJ and presenter Neil Bentley at the Hilton Syon Park on Friday (October 9).

Tim Page, from Online Support, said: “We are humbled by our success.

"I would like to thank both our staff and our customers for their support and loyalty to us. Effective customer service is at the heart of everything we do and that reflects in our success tonight.”

Hundreds of companies entered the awards with around 40 shortlisted in the 11 categories.

Other winners included Hounslow recruitment agency Staffing Match who scooped two awards for best new business and entrepreneur of the year in recognition of the firm’s unprecedented growth in its first year of business, achieving a turnover of £3m.

Mr Fry said: “We are delighted to have organised these awards for the third consecutive year. Since we launched the awards in 2013 we have been hugely impressed not only with the quality of businesses who have put themselves forward, but also by the enthusiasm and passion for these awards.

"Business owners and managers have had to work very hard over the past few years to keep ahead of their competition, and the peer to peer endorsement that comes from winning one of our awards really can make the difference when it comes to securing new customers and winning new business”.

The awards evening also raised £650 for the Mayor of Hounslow's charities; Contact the Elderly and Hounslow Toy Library.
