A landlady is celebrating 50 years at her pub in West Kensington.

The Colton Arms in Greyhound Road has been home to Dorothy Nunn for the last half-century. And to mark the golden occasion she threw a party for customers with her son Jonathan, who runs the popular Enterprise Inns pub with her.

Guests were treated to a a buffet and free drinks, and music from members of a Welsh choir. Dorothy said: “Considering I’ve had three pubs in the past, I can’t believe it’s been 50 years since I took over The Colton Arms.

“I love my pub and home – it’s small but cosy, and is special to many. Customers and staff often come back years later to see us and reminisce.”

Enterprise CEO Simon Townsend was at the celebration and presented Dorothy with a specially commissioned painting of the pub. He said: “I’m so proud of Dorothy and Jonathan for how well they run the very charming Colton Arms. The customer service is top notch, it’s warm, welcoming, and everything is beautifully kept.

“To reach 50 years as a publican is incredible, and for that reason we celebrated their achievement in style.

“Dorothy has lived through many changes in our industry during her time at The Colton Arms. She has dedicated a huge part of her life to the pub, becoming one of Enterprise’s longest serving publicans in the process. We congratulate her for reaching this amazing milestone.”

The pub has previously been named best London pub of the decade.
