Morning commuters faced traffic chaos as two busy routes into London were delayed by collisions, which saw a lorry and a car collide and a multiple car pile up.

The A40 sliproad, the A312 in Northolt , at Target Roundabout was partially blocked from around 7.30am onwards on Tuesday (May 10) after a lorry and a car were in collision.

Metropolitan Police confirmed that no one was hurt and that it was a vehicle damage only collision.

Two lanes on the M4 westbound were closed after multiple cars piled up bumper to bumper, between junction 4 (Heathrow spur and Uxbridge ) and junction 4B (M25).

The collision, which took place at around 8am, saw queues back up as far as junction 3 in Hayes .

Metropolitan Police confirmed there were no arrests after the incident and it and the only damage was to the vehicles involved.
