Iconic statues in the capital, including the Sherlock Holmes in Baker Street, have been given a makeover ahead of London Fashion Week.

The nails on their hands were painted with distinctive nail varnish ahead of the eagerly anticipated event, running from February 19-23.

As well as the Victorian sleuth, other famous names to benefit from bright pinky-red varnish was fashionista George 'Beau' Brummel in Jermyn Street, Westminster, and Winston Churchill and Theodore D Roosevelt, sitting together on a bench in Mayfair .

The makeovers were done using SensatioNail Polish to Gel Transformer.

European marketing manager Geraldine Davis said: “It was great fun to give some of our most iconic statues a polish ahead of London Fashion Week .”
