A teenage boy has been airlifted to hospital after a collision with a car in Northolt - sparking long delays in the area.

Metropolitan Police was called to Church Road, at the junction with Parkfield Road, at 3.43pm to reports of a collision between a pedestrian and a car.

Police said the pedestrian, a 14-year-old, was airlifted to hospital by London Air Ambulance with multiple injuries.

His condition is not life-threatening but has been described as serious.

The collision has sparked delays in the area, with queues running between the A40 Western Avenue (Target Roundabout) and the White Hart Roundabout.

All lanes have since reopened, but there remains congestion between The Parkway and Willow Tree Lane.

There is also congestion on Hanger Lane.

As shown in the map, traffic appears to be easing a little between A40 Western Avenue (Target Roundabout) and the White Hart Roundabout.

However, there is severe traffic on West End Road heading north towards the A40.

Teenager was taken to hospital 'by road'

Police have now said the teenager involved in the collision was taken to hospital by road, not by Air Ambulance as previously stated by officers.

Met police statement

A Met police spokesman said: “Police were called by London Ambulance Service at 15:48hrs on Tuesday, March 14 to Parkfield Road, Northolt, at the junction of Church Road to reports of a road traffic collision involving a car and a pedestrian.

“London’s Air Ambulance also attended.

“The pedestrian, a 14-year-old boy, suffered head and arm injuries and was taken to a central London hospital by road.

“His condition is described as not life threatening.

“Road closures were put in place but have since been lifted.

“No arrests.”
