Two men were arrested on Christmas Day after a witness described the "frightening" moment shots were fired in Heston .

Metropolitan Police officers were called at around 1.30am to two men injured near the Great West Road, at the junction with Heston Road.

One of the men was taken to hospital and both men, in their 20s, were arrested in connection with grievous bodily harm.

They have both been bailed to dates in mid-February, which are yet to be confirmed.

'To see something like that is terrifying'

A witness, who does not wish to be named, was on the way to her family's home after working late as a bouncer and said the incident was "frightening".

The 51-year-old from Addlestone in Surrey said: "When I came out of the shop I heard loud bangs.

"My first thought was that I've got a family, in my 11 years as a bouncer I've not seen that and I've seen all sorts, I was frightened for my life."

A spokesman for the the Met Police told getwestlondon: "Police were called to Heston to two men injured.

"Neither man was seriously injured, although one of the men was taken to hospital as a precaution.

"An imitation firearm was recovered at the scene, and it is believed that one of the men was injured by a pellet discharged from this weapon.

"An imitation firearm firing a pellet would suggest a pellet gun."

A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said: "We were called to reports of an incident at the junction.

"We sent an ambulance and incident response officer to the scene.

"We treated a man for a head injury and took him to a hospital in West London."

Detectives from Hounslow are still investigating the incident.

Anyone with information that may assist the investigation should call police via 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
