Part of Chiswick High Road has been closed to allow Thames Water to repair a burst water main.

The emergency repair work started at 10am on Friday (December 15), with motorists advised to stay clear of the area.

The road is closed between Dukes Avenue and Turnham Green Terrace while Hounslow Council remove a tree which will allow Thames Water to access and isolate the leak before carrying out repairs.

There is also a footpath closure between Windmill Road and Elliott Road.

Turnham Green Police took a photo of the works taking place, and said the High Road was closed between Dukes Avenue and Turnham Green Terrace.

The council expects the road closure to remain in place until 4pm, dependent on the work required to fix the leak .
