This dramatic footage shows firefighters dealing with a car alight near the Royal Marsden Hospital in Chelsea earlier today (Thursday).

Leaking fuel from the Volkswagon Golf had been set alight, giving the impression that the road was on fire. Firefighters believe they know how it started

Soho Crew Manager Tom Tracey said: “We believe that the fire was caused by a ruptured fuel line underneath the car.

“The driver was alerted by another motorist and quickly pulled over and got out without injuries.

Two engines from Soho were called to Fulham Road at 10.27am and had the fire under control by 10.50am.
