The Central line westbound has now reopened after a signal failure at Bank forced much of the line to close on Monday morning.

There was no service between Leytonstone and White City while TfL worked on the signalling issues.

The rush-hour closure has left commuters in and around central London facing severe delays to their journeys.

Traffic slow on the M4

There is congestion on the M4 eastbound between Junction 3 for Hayes and the elevated section at Junction 4, Brentford.

Our traffic portal estimates the journey time between the exits is 17 minutes.

A40 Greenford delays

A car has broken down on the A40 in Greenford heading towards central London.

One lane is closed and traffic is slow with congestion all the way back to Hillingdon Circus, A437 Long Lane / B466 Long Lane.

Heavy traffic remains despite all lanes being reopened following the collision between two lorries.

There has been a collision between Junction 1 of the M40 at Denham and Junction 1A for the M25.

Traffic heading west is queuing back to A40 to A437 Long Lane / B466 Long Lane (Hillingdon Circus).

Traffic in Chelsea

As a knock-on effect of the mains gas replacement at Chelsea Embankment, there is heavy traffic on many roads in Chelsea.

This includes Chelsea Bridge, Chelsea Bridge Road and Grosvenor Avenue.

Battersea Bridge is also experiencing more traffic than normal.

For those driving in central and west London, please be aware that Chelsea Embankment westbound is closed due to gas works until March 11, 2018.

Traffic is being diverted through the Sloane Square area.
