Celebrities and TV personalities have taken to Twitter to have their say on the impending General Election results.

Shortly after the exit poll revealed we could be faced with a hung parliament , stars shared their thoughts and views on the social media site.

The poll suggests the Conservatives are expected to win 314 seats with Labour securing 266 spots, both short of the 326 needed to win a majority.

Journalist and infamous TV personality Piers Morgan posted: "Buckle in, Britain, we're in for a very bumpy year", while comedian and writer Ricky Gervais tweeted: "Ooh... it's closer than we thought."
