British Transport Police have released CCTV images of a woman they wish to speak to after a member of rail staff was spat at in Paddington station.

The worker, aged in her 40s, had seen two children playing in a railway buggy and asked them to stop as it was dangerous.

The woman who was with the children, believed to be their mother, became angry and shouted at the victim.

She then spat in her face twice and ran away from the station.

The incident happened at around 10.35am on Friday October 20.

A British Transport Police spokesperson said: "Officers would like to speak to the woman shown in the CCTV images as she may have information which could help the investigation.

"We would like to speak to her in connection with an incident in which a woman was spat at.

"If you recognise her, please call 0800 40 50 40 or text 61016, quoting reference number 335 of 14 November 2017."
