Three months on from the murder of Hayes woman, Anita Kapoor, police have issued an appeal for the public's help in tracing clothing and a mobile phone belonging to the 34-year-old.

Ms Kapoor's body was found in a lay-by on the A413 near Gerrards Cross, Buckinghamshire, on June 23.

As part of its investigation into her murder, Thames Valley Police wants to trace clothing and a phone which belonged to Anita and have yet to be recovered.

Ms Kapoor was last seen in Oswald Road, Southall, at around 4am on Tuesday June 23.

It is believed she was wearing a black coat, grey trousers and white Nike Air Force trainers, as pictured in the CCTV stills police released this week.

Also still missing is her mobile phone, which is a black Samsung GTE1080i similar to the one pictured.

Thames Valley Police hopes the public can help trace a mobile phone and clothing belonging to Ms Kapoor

Detective Chief Inspector Kev Brown, leading the investigation, said: “We need the public’s help to locate those belongings, particularly her phone, coat, trousers and trainers.

“We are still keen to locate these items as they are evidence and form part of our investigation into the events surrounding Anita’s disappearance from Southall and subsequent discovery in Gerrards Cross.

“Therefore her belongings were likely to have been located in west London or south Buckinghamshire between these two areas.

“Anyone who has any information about these items or their whereabouts is asked to contact us as a matter of urgency.”

A Home Office post mortem carried out gave the cause of death as asphyxiation, due to compression of the neck.

Navin Mohan, 34, of Quaker Lane, Southall, has been charged with her murder.

The date for his trial has been fixed for November 24 at Reading Crown Court.

Anyone with information can call Thames Valley Police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
