Police are searching for witnesses after a woman was seriously sexually assaulted on a tube station platform.

A 28-year-old woman was sexually assaulted by a man while on the Piccadilly line platform at South Ealing underground station.

British Transport Police has launched an investigation after the attack, which took place on Sunday (October 22) between 2.30am and 3.30am.

Detective Sergeant Paddy Kerr said: "The woman is being cared for supported by specialist officers as the investigation progresses.

"I would like to speak urgently to anyone who knows the man in the CCTV image or to anyone who knows anything about the incident.

"If you have any information, big or small please call us on 0800 40 50 40 or text 61016 citing reference 263 of 22/10."

Officers have now released a CCTV image of a man they wish to speak to in connection with the incident as he may have information which could help the investigation.

They would also like to speak to anyone who was in the area at the time or to anyone who may have witnessed the incident.
