A cat in Feltham is speeding through nine lives after being shot a third time in three months.

Unlucky Kino, a Persian feline, has been targeted by cat predators shooting an air rifle multiple times since October last year, with the latest incident last Wednesday (January 4).

The shocking incident has sparked a message of warning from a vet practice to other animal owners.

Vet Matthew Wilson, of Young Veterinary Partnership, said: “We are hopeful that Kino will make a speedy recovery, and he is very lucky that the pellets have not caused life threatening injuries.

“These incidents have been reported to the police and occurred in the Feltham area.”

The most recent attack came to light after the ginger-haired cat suffered an injury to his hind leg.

Kino's distraught owner took the poorly cat to the Hounslow branch of Young Veterinary Partnership on Lampton Road where veterinary surgeon Frankie Sanders Hewitt investigated further.

A closer look revealed two broken toes and new fragments from a pointed air gun pellet which saw Kino undergo a 45 minute surgery to remove the shattered pieces.

The cat is now on a six week road to recovery to heal his wounds which require regular bandage changes and check ups at the vets.

In October 2016, Kino was taken to the vets with a sore leg when x-rays revealed two pellets , one in his front paw which was removed and another from a previous incident lodged in the abdomen.

The vets are also keen to raise awareness incidents such as this are still happening in the area and urge anyone who suspects their cat is unwell or has an unexplained injury to take them to their local vets.

Anyone with information is being urged to contact the police on 101.
