Police have cordoned off a parade of shops after an ATM was blown up in Hounslow in the early hours of the morning.

An investigation is underway after an explosion ripped open a cash machine in a phone box on Brabazon Road in Heston , outside the Dhillons Supermarket and Off Licence.

Police were called at 1.40am to reports of an ATM robbery on Monday (August 22).

Officers arrived at the scene shortly after but suspects had already fled from the scene.

This is the third ATM robbery in the borough after earlier this month a group of suspects made off with a cash machine from a hotel on Bath Road, in Hounslow, near Heathrow Airport.

Days earlier, an explosion ripped open a cash machine at Hanworth petrol station.

A Metropolitan Police spokesman said: "We were called at 1.40am to reports of suspects blowing up an ATM in Brabazon Road.
