A free careers on wheels service is being rolled out to Brentford to help people boost their job prospects.

The roving facility will be making a monthly stop in the heart of the Great West Quarter (GWQ) estate, in Ealing Road, Brentford, starting from January 21.

More than 500 people across Feltham and Hounslow have already benefited from employment advice since Hounslow Council launched its Careers Coach last summer, with at least 30 finding jobs as a result.

The council has now teamed up with the housing association A2Dominion, which manages homes in GWQ, to help it reach even more people.

The coach is equipped with nine computer stations on which anyone living in the borough can brush up their CVs or search for jobs.

One-to-one advice is also available on board, along with specialist support for young people keen to know more about local apprenticeship opportunities.

Heather David, head of community investment at A2Dominion, said she hoped the service would boost the career prospects of more than 500 of its residents over the next three years.

Councillor Sue Sampson, cabinet member for communities at Hounslow Council, said: "Taking the Careers Coach to Brentford means we can grow on the good work that has already been done and help even more residents in the borough secure work or training."

The Careers Coach will stop at GWQ on Thursday January 21 and from February onwards on the last Thursday of every month, between midday and 4.30pm.

It will continue to make weekly visits to Bell Square, just off Hounslow High Street, on Mondays, and The Centre car park, in Feltham , each Wednesday, from midday to 4.30pm.
