Firefighters attended to a car fire after the vehicle collided with a bus shelter and smashed into a shop window.

At around 1.15am on Thursday (May 5), emergency services were called to the scene, where the car was wedged inside the shop in Park Road, NW1, near Marylebone station.

A Metropolitan police spokesperson said: "A car was in collision with a bus shelter in Park Road, NW1.

"The resulting car fire spread to an adjacent shop-front.

"The driver of the vehicle made off prior to the arrival of police.

"Enquiries continue to trace this driver."

Met police confirmed nobody was hurt in the incident


Three London Fire Brigade (LFB) engines attended and the fires were extinguished by around 15 firefighters after an hour.

A spokesperson for LFB told getwestlondon : "One car was in collision with a bus shelter and into an office front.

"100% of the car was damaged in the fire, and 20% of the ground floor."
