A vehicle caught fire and a woman was taken to hospital following a two car crash in Harefield near Uxbridge on Friday (December 23).

The Metropolitan Police was called to Moorhall Road at the junction with Harvil Road at around 9.09am by the London Ambulance Service.

Officers arrived on the scene to find a road traffic collision involving two cars, one of which had caught fire.

A woman was also taken to hospital by the ambulance service but her injuries are unclear.

The Met Police said there were no life changing or life threatening injures.

London Fire Brigade were also called to the scene to deal with the fire.

Road closures were put in place while the collision was cleared, and officers reopened the road just before 10.30am.

A Met Police spokesman said: "There were no life threatening and no life changing injuries.

"We were called at 9.09am by London Ambulance Service to Moorhall Road to reports of a road traffic collision between two cars.

"One was reported to be on fire.

"A woman was taken to a local hospital by London Ambulance Service."
