Police are appealing for help to find an army service medal stolen during a burglary in Kingsbury .

Between Sunday, October 18 and Thursday October 22, a house was broken into in Fryant Ward and various items were stolen according to Met Police .

One of the things stolen was a George VI Type 1 General Service Medal which the elderly man would particularly like back as it was awarded to his father in recognition of his army service in Palestine in the 1930s.

Investigating officer, Detective Constable Louise Moore, said: "I am appealing to people who may have been offered the medal, or have seen a medal like this recently, to contact me.

“It has priceless sentimental value to the owner who is desperate for its return."
