Three men armed with screwdrivers and hammers forced their way into the house in Westwick Gardens, Hounslow at around 10.40pm on Saturday (August 19), threatening a male occupant and demanding he hand over property.

They then ransacked the property before heading upstairs to the elderly resident, who had been asleep in bed and removed jewellery from her.

According to the police, she was not physically injured during the burglary.

The men fled the house in a silver saloon, which police believe could be an Audi, making off with watches and a considerable amount of jewellery.

Detective constable Matthew Burt, from Hounslow CID, said: "This was a horrible crime in which a vulnerable woman had her property removed from her person as she lay in what should have been the safety of her own bedroom.

"I would urge anyone with information regarding these men, or who saw a silver car parked in the vicinity of the house that night to contact us.

"It is vitally important that these men are caught before they harm anyone else."

The suspects are described as white and they had Irish accents.

Two of the men are believed to be in their late teens or early 20s and approximately 5ft 7ins tall.

The other suspect is described as around 6ft tall and aged in his 50s.
