International rock star Bryan Adams and former Catatonia singer Cerys Matthews will be among the judges of a best bands competition in west London.

The Groover from Vancouver, whose catalogue hits include Summer of ‘69, Run To You and (Everything I Do) I Do It For Yo , is on the panel of Tri-borough Music Hub’s Battle of the Bands on November 17 at Bush Hall in Shepherd’s Bush.

It will showcase the very best talent of young people who either live or go to school in Kensington and Chelsea, Westminster, and Hammersmith and Fulham.

The acts performing in the final will include solo artists, bands, groups and will cover an eclectic range of musical styles.

Welsh singer Cerys, also an author and broadcaster, had hits with Road Rage and Mulder & Scully, and went on to appear in I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of here!

Last year Bryan Adams visited Royal Chelsea Hospital to unveil a berth for a Chelsea Pensioner named in honour of his foundation - The Bryan Adams Foundation.

The Tri-borough Music Hub (TBMH) is an organisation which oversees the delivery of music education in the three west London boroughs. It aims to develop musical potential and foster a life-long love of music in all children, irrespective of background.

Tickets for the event, which is also being organised by The Rhythm Studio, are free but must be booked in advance from http://bit.ly/1IGwphP
