A man who vandalised nine high-end cars causing almost £16,000 worth of damage has been jailed.

Nyah Bishop, of no fixed abode, was convicted of criminal damage at the City of London Magistrates' Court on Monday, December 5.

The 21-year-old was sentenced on the same day to six weeks' imprisonment.

Between 7pm on Wednesday, September 7, and 8am on Thursday, September 9, nine BMWs that were parked securely in a public underground car park in Park Lane were damaged to the cost of £15,949.

PC Emma Dobson, the investigating officer from Westminster borough, said: "I am delighted that Bishop has been convicted and sentenced for this mindless act.

"He has failed to admit the truth throughout and he has shown no remorse for the damage he has caused.

"I hope his time behind bars gives him an opportunity to reflect upon his actions."
