A brothel in Southall has been served with a three-month closure order following complaints from neighbours.

Ealing Magistrates' Court granted the order for a Premises Closure on a property in Clifton Road on Tuesday (March 17).

The premises had been the cause of antisocial behaviour, drugs misuse and prostitution for several months, and numerous complaints had been received from local residents who were living in fear from the activities.

The closure order, granted by the court, means no one is allowed on the premises for three months. The house has been secured and boarded up to prevent anyone from gaining access.

The order is a result of the work of the Ealing Police Antisocial Behaviour Team and Ealing Council Safer Communities’ teams, who gathered a portfolio of evidence to present to the court.

Much of this evidence was gained from Ealing Police’s Borough Tasking Team, who executed a number of warrants at the address, and the Local Policing Team.

This closure is part of Operation Equinox, a Met-wide initiative to reduce violence with injury and anti-social behaviour across London.

Sergeant Nick Green, from the Police ASB Team at Ealing Council, said: “This is an excellent piece of work from PC Vickie McCartney-Hewison, who has not only worked hard to protect the local community, but also to ensure that the welfare of a vulnerable person is considered and cared for.

"Premises that are used for drugs and cause misery to local residents will not be tolerated in Ealing."

Police ask that any such behaviour is reported by calling 101, alternatively to remain anonymous, Crime Stoppers on 0800 555 111.
