People travelling to Heathrow Airport face delays following a broken down train on the line.

Heathrow Connect services have been suspended due to a fault with a train in Hanwell.

The train failure has resulted in no services in either direction since just after 7.30am on Friday (February 17).

The travel failure comes on the same day strikes are beginning from disgruntled British Airways cabin crew .

The service is widely used by the workforce at Heathrow Airport as well as passengers runs between London Paddington and the Heathrow Terminals.

It passes through Ealing Broadway, West Ealing, Hanwell, Southall, Hayes and Harlington.

A message on the Heathrow Connect website said: "Due to failed train in the Hanwell area, Heathrow Connect services are currently suspended as of 7.33am."

There is a knock-on effect for people who have chosen to travel on the quicker Heathrow Express line.

Delays of 15 minutes are being reported in both directions due to "congestion on the line".

Today will also see passengers affected by the British Airways mixed fleet cabin crew four day strike action in a long-running row over poverty pay.

As the dispute over "poverty pay" continues , the airline's refusal to meet to reach a settlement has sparked two more sets of four day walkouts.

The first begun from today (Friday February 17) at 12.01am and will last until 11.59pm on Monday (February 20).

The second strike will run from Wednesday (February 22) to Saturday (February 25).
