More than 500 seriously ill children and their families from across the UK enjoyed a fun-filled day at Brent Civic Centre in Wembley , thanks to Rays of Sunshine Children’s Charity .
Making the event on Sunday (December 6) even more special, soprano, Laura Wright, Britain’s Got Talent 2015 finalists, Revelation Avenue and north-London singer and star, Sonna Rele, all performed some festive and chart-topping hits.
In addition, the inspirational Rays of Sunshine Children’s Choir, made up of seriously ill children, sang alongside Sonna Rele to perform ‘Strong’ the theme song to Disney’s Cinderella film.
The event, which was organised by Rays of Sunshine’s volunteers, provided an afternoon of entertainment and Christmas-themed fun for the families who had travelled across the UK, some as far as Cardiff and Manchester.
During the event, the children got to enjoy a wide-range of activities, including visiting Father Christmas in his grotto, build-a-snowman, and dancing along to the sensational performers.
Afterwards Hayley, Poppie’s mum, said on Twitter : “Absolutely fantastic. Here's Hollie and Poppie at the @RaysofSunshine Christmas party! All enjoyed!”
Claire added:“@RaysofSunshine thank you loads again. We loved it. Worth the journey from Wolverhampton today”
During the event, eight-year-old Ella, whose life was saved by a kidney transplant in 2014, sang a rendition of ‘Don’t Stop Believin’ for the children and families.
Her mum, Karen, said: "Rays of Sunshine, thank you for another fab day and party. Ella was in her element!”
Rays of Sunshine Children’s Charity brightens up the lives of seriously ill children in the UK aged three to 18 years old by granting wishes, granting hospital ward wishes and organising outings and large scale events for seriously ill children.
