Thousands of families flocked to Blondin Park to celebrate the special 10-year anniversary of the Brentford Festival.

Beating last year's numbers, around 12,000 children and adults walked through the gates of the park in Northfields, Ealing, to be part of the festivities on Sunday (September 6).

The pony rides, petting farm and bungee trampolining proved a big hit with the younger visitors, while the older car enthusiasts marvelled at the vintage vehicles on show.

Other fun in the sun included a bouncy castle, dog show and a visit from the fire brigade with young children thrilled to climb in and explore the vehicle.

Entertainment came from the two music stages with performers including Hounslow singe Judith Arkell and Deep Purple tribute act Perfect Purple, while those who like their music unplugged were over at the acoustic stage.

There were plenty of stalls selling everything from handmade crafts to toys as well as information stands from West London Waste and The Rubbish Diet.

Organiser Linda Massey said the event was certainly busier than last year and gave a special thanks to all the volunteers who helped make the day a success.

She added: “It takes six months to plan the event and set up and just a day to break down.

"Lots of aches and pains and time for us all to catch up on our sleep but the feedback has been great and makes it all worthwhile so there will be a festival next year on Sunday September 4."
