Brentford FC has signed a new deal it hopes will fuel its promotion bid - and fans have been invited to cash in.

The Bees have made Utilita Energy their official "energy partner" for the 2016/17 campaign.

As part of the deal, any supporters switching to the energy provider will get a £25 voucher to spend at the club's Griffin Park Stadium Shop.

They will also receive a free smart meter and a free limited edition Brentford FC in-home display cover, the latter of which is due to be available from this December or January.

Utilita claims to be the Britain's leading pay-as-you-go energy provider.

It has more than 400,000 customers, all of whom it says are guaranteed cheaper prices than those offered by the "big six" suppliers.

Brentford FC's chief executive Mark Devlin said the deal came at an exciting time for both the club and its new partner.

"Utilita have grown rapidly over the past three years and have ambitions for further significant growth over the next few years," he said.

"The club is looking to push for promotion to the Premier League ahead of our move to a new stadium."
