A man from Brent has appeared in court in relation to a terrorism offence charge.

Hussain Yusef appeared at the Old Bailey on Friday (August 5) charged with collecting information likely to be useful by a person preparing a terrorist act.

The 20-year-old has been remanded in custody to appear for trial at the same court on January 3, 2017.

The Metropolitan Police said: "Hussain Yusef, 20, of Brent has today, August 5, appeared at the Old Bailey charged with collection of information likely to be useful to someone preparing a terrorist act."

On Wednesday (Aug 3) counter terrorism officers were brought in to investigate the attack in Russell Square, after a woman was killed and six injured.
