A teenager has been accused of carrying a knife at the Notting Hill Carnival.

The 15-year-old was charged with possession of a knife at the carnival's Panorama event at Emslie Horniman Pleasance Park, in Bosworth Road, yesterday (Saturday, August 29).

He has been bailed to appear at Hammersmith Youth Court on September 14. His bail conditions include not attending the carnival and adhering to a curfew.

The Panorama event kicked off the carnival weekend, with entertainment including a competition between national steel bands.

Today is Children's Day, with youngsters getting the chance to display their flamboyant costumes in the parade, and the carnival concludes tomorrow.

The forecast for today is mostly dry but rain is expected tomorrow. Ambulance chiefs have urged revellers to avoid legal highs, which they say are extremely dangerous.

We'll have a full gallery of carnival photos soon but in the meantime here are couple taken by readers at the carnival today.
